Sony recently declared the follow-up to its tiny rugged camera from 2017, the RX0. This new camera, also called as the Sony Action Cam RX0 II has a 15.3-megapixel sensor and a Zeiss Tessar T 24mm F4 fixed wide-angle lens with a 20cm minimum focus distance. Though it is quite similar to the RX0, it comes with a 2.3inches x 1.59inches, a 1.38inches body which is 132 grams of weight.
Being more selfie-friendly, it also has an adjustable LCD screen which can flip 180 degrees upwards and 90 degrees down. Not only this camera is waterproof up to 33 feet, but also us robust enough to resist the force of 400 pounds of force. Having implemented with Sony’s Eye AF which locks onto the eyes of the subject, the Soft Skin Effect could cover minor blemishes.
The RX0 II also supports internal 4K 30p recording and could stabilize the footage even when handheld. In order to stabilize the vides, a Super Slow Motion mode which shoots videos at 1,000 fps and has a continuous shooting mode for time-lapse videos.
This camera is tiny and therefore can be tricky for first-timers to shoot a video being handheld all the time. However, Sony has introduced an optional shooting grip with integrated controls. The device also comes with a mic jack, and a plug to connect to external microphones as and when required for making the recordings clear. If the working is done on a project that requires multiple cameras, Sony’s Imaging Edge mobile application would give the user the ultimate control to up to five RX0 II cameras at once.
