Canon confirmed yesterday that it is crafting a professionally oriented mirrorless camera having a stabilized sensor. In an interview, Canon said that this pro-level camera is one that everyone’s expecting.
While Canon launched the EOS R camera series last year along with the four lenses like the RF 35mm f/1.8 IS STM and broadened with the EOS RP earlier this year.
One of the advantages of this full-frame mirrorless body is the new RF mount that it has allowed Canon to work on a combination of optical (i.e. lens-based) and in-body stabilization. Canon also currently offers image stabilization in its lenses rather than the sensor level. It shall also provide a digital stabilization option for videos that work in perfect synchronization with the optical technology.
The Body-based stabilization would deliver users with the stabilization for lenses that lack an equivalent system, such as the many EF lenses. Another advantage of this flagship camera is that it would allow body-based and lens-based systems to work together.
Canon EOS DSLR Line and EOS M Series:
Canon also reassured that the company’s most recent DSLRs were the Canon EOS Rebel T100 / EOS 400D and EOS Rebel T7 / EOS 200D, which were jointly announced a year ago. While Canon hasn’t yet announced any additions to the EOS M system since the EOS M50 – it introduced the F-M 32mm f/1.4 STM lens last year.
